Mini Hiatus

Hello guys & girls.
I do apologise for the very intermitent posts on the blog of recent days. My computer was not feeling all too good, but he is now up & running again, better than before - so you can expect more up-to-date news, as it breaks. (Hah - I sound like a little news reporter!)

Nerina headlined the Clapham Grand on tuesday night - playing 5 songs. The setlist was; Idaho, Everything Is Illuminated, Everybody's Gone To War, Heidi & Sophia. Nerina was on top form & the two newest tracks from the forthcoming album sounds much more fleshed out than they were a year or two ago. Nerina even made a comment about Sophia losing out on the Ivor Novello to Scott Matthews, in which she seemed rather annoyed about, understandably. Scott Matthews? Who the hell is he & how could any of his songs be more lyrically & musically beautiful than Sophia?

Onwards & upwards, I'm uploading videos of the night onto youtube & they will be posted shortly. However, something was missing from the performance - Peg.

Very odd situation, the lack of Peg at the gig - which started many thinking whether the single release would go ahead. Many, myself included, decided that it would probably be cancelled - as even now, there is no word of a video for the supposed single.
However on friday - I picked up a Peg promo from a website, which will be winging its way to me now, which suggests that obviously it will be single. Or at least be released to radio.

I would imagine that the single is going to be further postponed - well at least I hope it will, if they want to get some decent promo in & have another 'hit.'

More news on Peg, the video & the promo will be fowarded to you, as soon as I hear anything.

Whilst We're Waiting...

So whilst we're all waiting for some 'Reeny' news to do with the 'Peg' video & the outcome of the Ivor Novello awards, I thought I would post the 'Live At Abbey Road' interview & the gorgeous performance of 'Idaho' for all of you who haven't yet seen it, or want your own version of it. The video is in iPod video format 'm4v' and is 63mb in size.
It was recorded straight from the live broadcast & is fullscreen - depending on how big your computer screen is I suppose!

You can download it from here.

Peg - Delayed

In true Nerina style, the release date for 'Peg' has been pushed back to July 9th.
Which can only be a good thing, as more promotion can happen & it'll be sunnier (with a bit of luck) and it seems to me, that 'Peg' is the type of song that is going to sound amazing blasting out of the stereo is everybody's car this summer, especially when everyone is cheery and sunkissed!

I'll keep you posted with details about the video as soon as I hear anything.

New Single - Peg

Just re-capping any recent news, I do apologise for all of you who already know this, but incase you have been living in a cave, or have been to busy listening to the Artic Monkeys new album, Nerina will be releasing a new single, and sooner than you would think.

June 25th is the date.
Peg is the single. It's a cover of one of Nerina's favourite songs, by one of her favourite bands - 'Steely Dan' & very good it is also.
Nerina has teamed up with Richard X (who has produced many a 'chart buggering mega hit [tm]' including 'Being Nobody' by Liberty X & I'm sure many others!) It's all very summery & very, very good. It's a cross between the 'Fires era' & the 'Dear Frustrated Superstar era' and it's fun! That's what the summer is about! Being fun!

You can listen to the song here if you have realplayer, but if you don't, you can listen to it here.

The single release will also include a Richard X remix of Geek Love, which should be interesting, and club mixes of 'Peg' will be available soon.

Let us know what you think about Nerina's new direction & if you think she should stick with for the next album?

Ivor Novello Nomination

For all of you, who have not yet heard - and I'm sure most of you have.
Nerina is up for an Ivor Novello award this month!
'Sophia' is up for the award for the best song, both musically & lyrically.

She faces tough competition from 'Artic Monkeys' & 'Scott Matthews'
However, I'm sure that our favourite Pallot can just nudge it & come away with on more award than she came away with at The Brits, back in February.

Fingers crossed & the awards take place on the 24th May, mark it on your calendar!

Welcome

Hello!
So, this is it. The very first Nerina Pallot blog.
I thought I would set this up, as sometimes the official site, is very, very, very slow to update with any new news, and 'www.nerina-pallot.net' ceases to exsist anymore.

Obviously, I'm still setting the page up & working out how to do everything, but make sure you pop back & see what new additions to the blog I have added - hopefully by then I will have worked out how to do everything, and posted a bit of news about Nerina.

In the meantime sit tight & either have a listen to 'Fires' or watch the 'Learning To Breathe' video on the right.
